The Stonestown Pediatric Medical Office was founded in 1947 by Dr. Alvin Jacobs and Dr. Martin Gershman. They moved into the Stonestown Medical Building in 1950 as it was being built. As several other pediatricians retired they merged their practices into ours. The practice of pediatrics has expanded to include adolescent medicine. We now see patients from birth up to 22 years old.
The practice has always participated in teaching at California Pacific Medical Center, formerly Children’s Hospital. The tradition of teaching medical students, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants in the office continues.
Over sixty plus years the practice has weathered earthquakes, power outages, and fires, sometimes caring for patients by flashlight or in the parking lot.
We adopted electronic medical records and e-prescribing in 2008.
Welcome to Stonestown Pediatrics.
